On this occasion I would like, with great affection and from the bottom of my heart, to make a public recognition of the Grace Karate Do Dojo of Michigan.

A recognition in which I have been part of, have taken part in, and have had interesting experiences. I give testimony, based on my 43+ years of teaching within Karate Do and more than 50 years of practicing martial arts, that the work being done goes beyond throwing punches and kicks, beyond what the common denominator believes martial arts to be, in this case karate: recreation, integral formation, psychophysical health, and above all the most important element, which is the spiritual aspect based on faith and based on the Word of God.

Directed by Sensei Rudy Aguilar, who began a project trying to complete the part of his career that started in Venezuela as an athlete. He wanted to finish it in the United States and, without realizing it, time passed. He trained his children to become black belts. Today he has many achievements, many satisfactions as an athlete at the national and international competitive level. Beyond a medal, there is the satisfaction of having a family within Karate Do that has gained a very interesting name within the state of Michigan.

The Grace Karate Do Dojo is characterized by the formation of its people, where everyone is given equal opportunity to grow from being before doing. It is a very interesting philosophy that not all karate schools or dojos, as they are called in Japanese, follow, because many focus only on the competitive sports aspect, and from experience we consider that this goes beyond that.

For my part, I feel proud to share many activities with Sensei Rudy during the opportunities in which I have accompanied him, and I have lived great moments. I have shared with him his professional growth in the field of Karate Do as a Sensei.

I recommend that people practice Karate Do. I recommend the Grace Karate Do Dojo with my eyes closed, because I know that your children, who are our greatest treasure, will be in good hands. They will feel safe knowing that the time they choose to spend there, whether little, medium, or much, will become a good investment in values and a good investment in the integral formation that martial arts provide.
